About this Speaker

Jesse T Martin is the founder and CEO of the Streets Movement Organisation. A community development advocate who started from the grassroots, Jesse has built the organisation from south Cairns to impact three continents and grace the halls of the United Nations. As a young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander man from the Wagadagam, Yuin and Eora nations, Jesse found himself without an outlet or a place in his community. He has grown the organisation from an idea in his head into a thriving movement changing lives.

The Streets Movement Organisation works across a wide variety of environments in bringing proactive social change to the community working everywhere from schools to prisons from the local to international scene. Their flagship endeavours include building community centres and spaces as part of the Nexus network to empower local communities as well as administering the MI-Experience (Mulumulung International Experience) a national program which works with regional and remote area indigenous students and links them with international institutions with partners including the likes of Oxford, Cambridge, and NASA.
